Chief Technology Officer
Voicebox is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Technology Officer to join our team and help us continue to build and enhance our social media app for sharing voice notes. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a cutting-edge platform that connects users through voice communication.
In the early stages of the company, the CTO will act as the lead mobile app developer. An MVP has been built, so current workload will consist of maintaining the app, troubleshooting bugs, and working with the rest of the team to plan, design, and develop future iterations of the app.

Voicebox is a social media app dedicated to sharing voice notes. Users can record or upload audio of up to 2 minutes and share with their listeners as well as with the world. They can also listen to what their friends are talking about and discover new voices.
Responsibilities
- Develop
and Maintain Mobile Applications: Design, develop, and maintain the
iOS and Android versions of our social media app using Swift and
Java/Kotlin, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and overall user
experience.
- Backend
Development: Work on the backend infrastructure using NodeJS with the
Express framework to support the mobile app, including server-side logic,
database management, and API integration in JSON format.
- Web
Admin Panel: Develop and maintain a web-based admin panel using
Codeigniter or Laravel with PHP for managing app content, user accounts,
and analytics.
- Collaborate
with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers,
designers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Bug
Fixing and Performance Optimization: Identify and fix bugs, and
optimize app performance for speed and scalability.
- Stay
Updated with Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry
trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development.

Requirements
- Proven
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in mobile app development. If
you don’t meet this criteria, you can still apply with a strong portfolio
of iOS and Android applications.
- iOS
Development: Proficiency in Swift and experience with Xcode and iOS
frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, and Core Graphics.
- Android
Development: Proficiency in Java and Kotlin, and experience with
Android Studio and Android SDK.
- Backend
Development: Experience with NodeJS and the Express framework for
server-side development.
- Database
Management: Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and
MongoDB.
- Web
Development: Experience in developing web admin panels using
Codeigniter or Laravel with PHP.
- API
Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON format for data
exchange.
- Version
Control: Proficiency in using version control systems like Git.
- Experience
with Voice Communication: Familiarity with voice processing,
recording, and playback functionalities.
- Cloud
Services: Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or
Azure.
- Problem-Solving
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team
Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented
mindset.
